What is NSF/ANSI Standard 61

NSF/ANSI Standard 61 (NSF-61) is a set of national water treatment tests that establish stringent requirements for equipment and water treatment products that come in contact with either potable water or products that support the production of potable water. In all cases the equipment or products are tested before and after exposure to a given fluid to determine whether the water remains safe for human consumption.

Benefits of Gold Seal Certification

A Water Quality Association (WQA) certified product bears a distinguished Mark indicating that the product has undergone testing and evaluation to verify that it will perform as the certified claims indicate according to industry standards and that the process in which the product is made is reproducible.  It’s literature is also reviewed to insure that it meets a specific set of requirements.

WQA conducts annual inspections to verify that the products being manufactured are not only being consistently made, but that they are being made in the same way as when they underwent testing and evaluation.
